Human Element Magento project shortlisted for Imagine Award

The Pentair Aquatic Eco-Systems – World Aquaculture Technology Engineering & Research (PAES W.A.T.E.R.) Magento website has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Most Innovative at Magento Imagine 2016 award. Human Element proudly designed, built and launched this unique website earlier this year. Paeswater.com features an interactive virtual tour, allowing the user to experience the state-of-the-art facility first hand. The site’s live video feeds, real-time data from monitoring labs, and eCommerce functionality through the Pentair Magento Enterprise website presents a unique experience that is the first of its kind in the aquaculture industry.

The Magento Excellence Awards will be announced at the international 2016 Magento Imagine conference on April 13 in Las Vegas. Human Element and Pentair Aquatic Eco Systems will be attending the awards ceremony with high hopes of bringing home the trophy to both of their hard-working teams.

“The PAES W.A.T.E.R. website revolutionizes the aquaculture industry. Giving the user the ability to virtually walk through the building to view our products as if they were there in person is a huge win for us. Human Element was able to construct a website that could bring potential global customers inside our building without them ever having to leave the comfort of their home,” said Sean Phaler, Digital Marketing Manager at PAES.

Paeswater.com utilizes the Google Maps V3 API with panorama street view. Human Element combined more than 37 full-size panoramic views and 57 product touch points to give users a true-to-life walk through the facility, allowing potential customers to explore the technology workflow while adding products to the cart using the proven Magento Enterprise checkout.

“The Pentair W.A.T.E.R. project shows how you can integrate real space with eCommerce functionality,” said Paul Briscoe, lead developer for the project from Human Element. “There are many applications for this kind of interactive tour, and we’re really pleased with how this site turned out. It’s a real experience for users.”

Human Element is excited to see how the Google Maps API and Panorama Street View can be used for other clients. Allow customers to explore products on shelves, walk through brick-and-mortar or manufacturing facilities, display interesting and hard-to-reach locations; all of these options present a one-of-a-kind experience for potential buyers.

Ben Lorenz showed potential for leadership even in his first job: slinging pizzas at Pizza Hut. Although it wasn’t a lofty start, upper management took notice of Ben’s tenacity and work ethic and asked him to enter the company’s corporate training program... to which Mr. Lorenz replied, “Um, I’m in a band? Ben now lives the life of a model businessman, and has managed the technology and web development of some damn impressive clients, including: Mercury and Lincoln Vehicles, Volkswagen and Audi, 1800FLOWERS.com, Discover Card, Siena Heights University, and Domino's Pizza (to the dismay of Pizza Hut, of course). Although he’s no longer sporting a McGyver-style coiffure, Ben continues to enjoy music by performing at employee birthday parties, and entering break dancing competitions under his industry pseudonym, ‘Zip.’
