human element awarded michigan top 50 small businesses to watchHuman Element has been named one of the 2018 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” this month, an awards program presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business that generated more than 600 nominations.

Companies making it on to this exclusive list are considered a “remarkable group of second-stage companies.” Defined as having 6 to 99 full-time-equivalent employees and generating $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or working capital from investors or grants, and are known to be the backbone of Michigan’s economy. Representing all regions of the state and a diverse range of industries, companies like Human Element are acknowledged for their exceptional entrepreneurial leadership, creation of innovation or use of innovation in creative ways, and their sustainable competitive advantage.

There are a number of factors that have helped our team achieve the level of growth required to be considered a Top 50. First, Human Element uses the Traction business methodology, which has helped us to organize and grow our business over time and actively respond to the changing needs of our customers and internal team. In addition, our staff is made up of smart, unique individuals with a variety of skill sets that meet the needs of our clients with cutting-edge strategies for growth, designs that speak to customers, and technology that works. We work hard to build lasting relationships with our clients and partners, becoming an extension of their teams, which helps to promote mutual growth. We regularly review our processes for inefficiencies and work hard to improve our methods everyday.

This year, Human Element is working to establish our expanded base of services including digital marketing, user experience and design, as well as visitor research and A/B testing. In addition to our strong skills in development and technology strategy, these additional services will afford both new and existing clients the opportunity to grow more with the Human Element team.

We are also beginning to take on bigger clients in new verticals with an eye to expanding our core offerings to more B2B-focused companies. We believe that as we grow, adhering to our core values will help build trust with our clients, hire the right people, and help us maintain our culture.

Winners of the Top 50 award were selected by Michigan-based judges from the banking, economic development, entrepreneurship development, and venture capital communities.
